Lakes3D creates beautiful custom art to showcase our favorite natural landscape - lakes. Our artwork combines GIS, CNC machining, and epoxy with the natural beauty of wood. These are not laser-cut contours. Rather, they are continuous, smooth surfaces that represent the land topography with lake bathymetry (water depths in transparent blue epoxy). You can see and feel the detail of our 3D lake maps!

We use Baltic Birch plywood for two primary reasons: 1) its structural stability minimizes deformation due to milling or changes in temperature and humidity, and 2) the plywood gives a unique contoured appearance to accentuate the topography and bathymetry. 

The subtle differences and imperfections of wood make these truly unique works of art.
